Stefan Stefanescu is a renowned endodontist recognized for his exceptional contributions to the field of dentistry. He graduated from the University of Carol Davila Bucharest(Romania) in 2001. Before relocating in the UK he worked in several practices in Romania with special interest in Endodontics, Prosthetics and Esthetics. In 2009 he graduated PG courses in Implantology at Victor Babes University of Medicine Timisoara, being awarded the PGCert in this field. From 2010 he dedicated himself to postgraduate courses and research in the field of Endodontics, developing his skills so he‘s got to be a trainer in Endodontics and Prosthodontics on courses hold by prestigious names of European dentistry, having notable contributions to some scientific papers published in Switzerland, Romania, France, Australia, Ireland, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Italy. He started working in the UK in 2018, in mixed practices, covering all aspects of Dentistry, focusing more on Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry. He specialized in endodontics, pursuing a Master’s program in Endodontology at Chester University, graduating in 2021. With his expertise centered on performing root canal treatments, he has established himself as a leading authority in the field. Currently based in Liverpool, Dr. Stefanescu’s practice focuses exclusively on endodontics, allowing him to provide comprehensive and specialized care to his patients.
He published 12 scientific research articles. He was also trained in clear aligners. He is a reviewer for 11 dental journals. He is editor of the Open Access Journal of Dental and Oral Surgery, International Journal of Recent Innovations in Medicine and Clinical Research and member of the British Society of Endodontists (BES), Italian Endodontic Academy(AIE) and European Society of Endodontists(ESE). He also has speaker activity, having presented his researches in 2019 at the International Conference of the Italian Endodontic Society in Milano, and in 2025 at the Biennial Conference of the European Endodontic Society in Paris, the 3 rd International Congress of the Italian Academy of Endodontists(Bologna 2026), the Spring Scientific Meeting of the British Endodontic Society(London 2026). He also runs his own course “Endodontics from A to Z” in the UK, since 2021, having previous editions in Liverpool, Chester, Sheffield, Oldham, Blackpool, Birmingham and London.
He has a caring and understanding attitude to make visiting the dentist a more positive experience, even for the most nervous and anxious patients. Outside of work he enjoys to travel, have long walks in the nature, collecting stamps and vinyl, studying history and writing poems.

Dr. Goran Popović is continuously improving his professional skills in the field of oral surgery, implantology, implant prosthetics, aesthetic dentistry and digital dental medicine. He completed the postgraduate studies of Master of Science in Oral Surgery and Implantology at the International Medical College in Münster. He attended additional professional training with internationally recognized lecturers in the fields of prosthetics, aesthetic dentistry, smile design and digital therapy planning. He focuses his special professional interest on implant therapy, CBCT diagnostics, digital planning, aesthetic-prosthetic rehabilitation and the application of modern digital protocols in everyday clinical practice.
Throughout his professional career, Dr. Goran Popović has gained significant clinical, organizational, and managerial experience while working within the system of one of Croatia’s largest dental polyclinics, where he was a co-owner for several years. In addition to his daily clinical work, he was involved in operational management, leading multidisciplinary teams, patient communication, and planning complex implant and prosthetic treatments. Dr. T. Gonidis graduated from the Department of Dental Technology of technical university of Athens in 2007 and continued his studies at the Dental School of Athens. In 2015, he completed the three-year Master's program specializing in Prosthodontics at the University of Athens. Until today, he is active as a Scientific Associate of the Prosthetics Department of UOA. In 2013 he started his private practice in Maroussi. He is the vice-president in the Board of Directors of the Digital Prosthodontics Club, member of the Hellenic Prosthetic Society and the European Society of Osseointegration. He has authored and participated as a speaker in local and international conferences while he is involved in the training of dentists regarding Prosthodontics and Implantology. His scientific works have been published in international scientific journals. His recent fields of activity are the digital impression and design of prosthetic restorations, as well as the development of a protocol for bonding ceramic restorations.

Modern dental diagnostics require a proper assessment of when a two-dimensional panoramic radiograph suffices and when a three-dimensional CBCT analysis alters the treatment plan. The panoramic radiograph remains a vital tool for the initial assessment of dental status, general orientation, patient communication, and the identification of basic pathological or anatomical findings. However, for implant planning—specifically when assessing bone volume, relationships with the mandibular canal, maxillary sinus, and buccal plate, as well as resorption and complex endodontic or surgical scenarios—a 2D image is often insufficient. CBCT enables a more precise evaluation of anatomical structures, safer procedure planning, and a better explanation of treatment options to the patient. The aim of this lecture is to present a practical clinical decision-making algorithm: when to use a panoramic radiograph, when CBCT is indicated, and how to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure.
