With the advances in technological developments and introduction of subtractive and additive manufacturing methods, new materials are being introduced for tooth-, implant- and mucosa-borne reconstructions along with bone substitutes. While developments in the field of biomaterials influence almost all disciplines of dentistry, clinicians should be able to master the knowledge of the material types, their fundamental physical and chemical properties, as well as their biocompatibility. In this lecture, an overview will be given on the current clinical possibilities, limitations and future perspectives on new materials in dentistry with a focus on metals, polymers, hybrids and ceramics for subtractive and additive manufacturing.
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is central to functions such as chewing, speaking, and overall jaw movement. Disorders affecting this joint, collectively known as Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMDs), present a complex array of symptoms including chronic pain, clicking or popping sounds, restricted jaw movement, and even headaches or ear-related discomfort. The multifactorial nature of TMDs, involving structural, functional, and psychosocial elements, often complicates diagnosis and management. This evidence-based lecture explores the intricate nature of TMDs, providing clinicians with a comprehensive approach to diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management. From understanding the underlying causes of TMJ disorders to implementing minimally invasive and interdisciplinary strategies, this session equips dental professionals with practical tools to address one of the most challenging areas in dental practice.

Currently, I am working on my master's research in the field of restorative dentistry, specifically the marginal adaptation of composites from the Ivoclar Vivadent range. In 2019, as the national winner for the best-made posterior restoration class II, I took an active part in the Dental Progress Student Award organized by Ivoclar Vivadent in the region of Southeast Europe. I won the 4th place in a competition among hundreds of applicants from 22 countries and 40 faculties, which enabled me to actively participate with an oral presentation at Competence in Esthetics in Budapest. After the demonstrated success with the oral presentation, I started my Ivoclar Vivadent journey as a young opinion leader. In 2018, as one of the two winners of the national competition, I got the chance to take an active part with an oral presentation in the international competition organized by GC Europe in Leuven, Belgium under the name Essentia Academic Excellence Contest. Twelve participants selected from 100 applied universities took an active part at the level of Europe and the Middle East on the subject of the best restoration in the f rontal region. During my studies, I took an active part in student domestic and international congresses, achieving great success.
